About:

The genre of the show is comedy and it completely justifies it with sarcasm and extremely hilarious scenes. Every character is unique and the character development throughout the ten seasons is well portrayed. The story takes turns with cliffhangers in the last episode of each season. The plot keeps one hooked up and provides life lessons of being selfless, caring for other, respecting decision and journeys of others and loving unconditionally.

Characters:

The show mainly showcases the life of six friends, Ross, Rachel, Monica, Chandler, Phoebe and Joey. A quick glance at their characteristics:

Ross Geller: Played by David Schwimmer, Ross is a paleontologist, absolutely in love with dinosaurs. He is intelligent, mature, and has been divorced thrice. All of his wedding stories and the drama of his personal life will keep you engaged with his character.

Rachel Green: Jennifer Aniston plays the role of a charming, bossy, and fashion-loving lady. She gave up all her father’s money and house to become a self-independent lady and she achieves her goal. Her journey from a waitress to being part of the fashion industry is definitely worth a watch. It is said that her hairstyle became a trend in the 90s.

Monica Gellar: The role of a sporty, smart, caring, and beautiful lady is well portrayed by Courtney Cox. Her OCD and extremely planned life will leave you in hilarious laughter.

Chandler Bing: Matthew Perry very well showcases the role of a witty, sarcastic, creative, funny, and emotional man. His transformation from a highly irresponsible person to a responsible husband is amazing. If you know what Chandler’s job was, do comment below.

Phoebe Buffy: Played by Lisa Kudrow, Phoebe is a uniquely weirdly, funny, and loving character. She has struggled a lot in her past. Her generous behavior and principles about loving nature and vegan food give some great life lessons. She tells us it's okay to not have a pla.

Joey Tribbiani: Matt LeBlanc plays the role of an actor, charming, flirty, foodie, and not so smart person. His dumb dialogues and carefree attitude make the plot funnier. And remember, Joey doesn’t share his food.

Other then these characters there are other people like Gunther who teach us how selfless love can be and that it’s not necessary for the other person to love back. Janice, Jack, Judy, Richard, and all the other actors who have been a part of this show have added an element of fun to it. Tell me who is your favorite character in the comment section.

Reasons to binge:

2.    2. Watching friends can make your mood lighten up. If you had a bad day at work, you now know what to watch.

3.   3. You will start reminiscing about your moments with your friends and its great to go down the memory lane.

Is it overrated?

1.  1.  Watching 10 seasons in a go can get boring and demands a lot of patience. Some find it overrated because of the length of the series.

2.   2.  Some consider there is a slight decline in the quality of content over the seasons. But once you start watching the series there is no going back. The love for characters keep one hooked to the show.

3.   3. It is an old series, the filming and quality of the first few seasons do not match the current watching experience. Topics like Fat shaming and Homophobia are normalized and considered funny which can be sensitive to viewers.
