In the daily hustle, working from 9 to 5, it always feels good to go back to some music. If you are looking forward to finding some peace, then these Indie pop-rock bands are a must on your playlist. With lots of bands formed and dissolved, these are some bands that are still entertaining us.
1. Indian Ocean:
The band founded in 1990 established the fusion rock genre in India. The band is now left with only one of the founding members, Rahul Ram. The band was formed in the capital city, Delhi. The band is recognized for its amalgamation of Indian traditional raga with rock, folk, shlokas, and Sufi music played in instruments like guitar and drums. They released their first album the Indian Ocean in 1993. Due to copyright issues, the band has now turned to concerts and sponsorship and releases their albums online for free. Their last two albums 16/330 Khajoor Road and Tandanu are available free, online.

2. Avial:
Famous for its Malayalam lyrics, Avial was formed in 2003 in Trivandrum, Kerala. They create a fusion of rock music with Malayalam lyrics. Language has never been a barrier for the band to seek popularity and awards as the music speaks louder. After releasing multiple singles, their first album was out in 2008, which featured songs on social issues. They also composed music for two Malayalam movies. They have received six Jack Daniels Rock Awards in 2008 and Footprints Young Achiever's Award.

3. Agnee:
Formed in 2007 in Pune, Agnee released their first album in 2007. Since
then the band has released multiple singles. They have signed up with major
label deals. In 2012, the music for the Indian release of Marvel Superhero
movie “Avengers” was composed by Agnee. They are working in collaboration with
Radio Mirchi in a venture called ‘Create with Agnee’.
This band formed in Chandigarh in 2008, now based in Delhi is known for its soulful lyrics written in Hindi and Urdu. The topics they write on are related to faith, self-realization, and communalism, which touch the heart of the listeners. They initially released singles and then launched their first album ‘ Aalas ka Pedh’ in 2015 and second album ‘ Vaaqif’ in 2018.

5. The Yellow Dairy:
This five-member band from Mumbai describes their songs as a fusion of poetry and music. The lyrics are in Hindi, Urdu, and Punjabi and focus on self-actualization so that the audience or listeners can resonate with it. They have released six songs in two EPs and have gained fame in less than have a decade. They have also signed up with Sony Music India.

6. When Chai Met Toast:
This Kochi-based band originated with two members jamming together in the studio, back in 2014. It now has four members and they create multilingual folk or indie rock songs. They have created more than 12 originals and in 2017 the band launched their first EP album called “Joy of Little Things”. The band has a vast number of listeners and fans on YouTube and Spotify.
